There are periods when everything feels unstable.
Plans change, decisions remain unresolved, and the “next step” isn’t clear.
In moments like these, I don’t look for answers.
I look for something that keeps me grounded.
For me, that is creating.
Creation as an anchor in everyday life
When I sit down to crochet, sew, or make something with my hands, time slows down.
It doesn’t rush. It doesn’t pressure me.
There is only:
- movement
- repetition
- focus
Simple actions that bring a sense of calm.
It doesn’t fix everything — but it helps
Creating doesn’t erase uncertainty.
It doesn’t make hard decisions for you.
But it does:
- ground you
- remind you what you can control
- give you a space that belongs only to you
And many times, that is enough.
Every small object has its own time
A scrunchie.
A small pouch.
A clutch.
They’re not just objects.
They are moments of focus, patience, and care.
When everything around you feels unfinished, completing something small with your hands reminds you that something can be finished beautifully, even on a small scale.
Creating without pressure
I don’t always create to achieve something.
Or to prove anything.
I create to:
- clear my mind
- calm my body
- return to myself
Without deadlines. Without noise.
When everything feels uncertain, your hands remember
There is something comforting about doing something you know.
Something you’ve learned over time.
Your hands remember, even when your mind feels tired.
And within that quiet process, I find space to breathe.
In the end…
Creating is not a solution to everything.
But it is support.
A gentle way to say:
“I’m here. I’m doing something. I’m moving forward — even slowly.”
And some days, that’s the most stable thing we have.
